Barbara Simone was born on 16 November 1981 in Bari, in a south Italy where works and lives. Freelancer, graphic designer and illustrator. Artistic high school diploma, Bachelor’s degree in Industrial design and Communication confirmed by I.S.I.A. in Florence.

Her academic studies were centred on artistic teaching and design of objects of common use; these are the factors that influenced her vocation to the use of varied materials and that drive her investigation into new depictions in the form of collage and assemblages. Works based on re-employed materials of every kind and origin: cut-outs, cardboard labels, metal finds, bolts, keys, pins, rusty screws and clock’s gearwheels. The same lyricism that characterizes collage on wood and canvas is also found in digital collage, featuring a dreamlike dimension, surreal, romantic.
